oh cool so did I, I'm looking forward to playing it. Did you hear about the FF XIII-2: The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition?

My my... there've been a lot of complaints that the series deserves better than what XIII-2 delivers.

I've also preordered the game but can't pick it up til late tonight cuz of ghetto work X__x Not expecting too much from the game, but then again, I don't consider this a true FF (just like I don't consider X-2 a true FF), but I can't see it being that poor - I personally liked XIII's battle system, and if this game tightens it up, that would be enough for me
To further Turbo's statement, I would actually argue that the series deserved better than what XIII delivered. There hasn't been a really great FF since X (so you haven't missed that much, Hei), but I still think from a pure gameplay mechanic standpoint, XII is the best one - it's just too bad that it lacked the story and emotional connections that the great FFs created (ie VII, X).

Indeed. XIII didn't deliver as much as some people hoped, Fans seem to think XIII-2 is fine, because it corrects a lot of issues XIII hadm but it doesn't innovate. There's nothing fresh on the table, and the DLC is annoying people. Walk up to an ingame charater and among the selections of options you can choose, a few certain ones provide a message that's something along the lines of "This will be available at a later time through DLC" <---- IN GAME

I've 'heard' the music is on the lower end of the enjoyable spectrum. Only heard this from a couple critics reviews and personal friends who've already had the Japanese game shipped to them ahead of time to play.

I still haven't play XIII; bought it a bit ago but I am reluctant to if it's super long and not good.....I wanted to hear the music and see the art though

Hmm, you guys got me thinking, i was about to buy Skyrim but i think FF will bring me alot more fun
The only FF's i played were 1 and 2 on the Gameboy Advance, but i did love those ALOT i think my savegame was over 350 hours (which is much since i was only 12 years old then). I really like the kind of "magical feeling" (no idea how to describe that feeling) that Square Enix games give you
For someone who has not played alot of FF, which one would you guys recommend me to buy?

Played the demo for FFXIII-2 it isn't really that great more like a try to get more money from the same story, some small changes and only 2 playable characters +x non-story monsters, not really sounding so well imo

I never played FF 3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 or 13 so this game will be entirely new for me. For a new game, is it good?

Buy skyrim. It will be worth your money haha.
But I personally will make you buy 8, 9, and 10 when you decide to get a ff game. They all have beautiful stories and 10 will always blow my mind.
But *sigh. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I hope XIII-2 is good. I am really looking forward to XIII-Versus though...

Haha, like Spaghetti said, between FF XIII-2 and Skyrim, the latter is a better buy, I guess.

My friend convinced his parents to let him stay home today and play it. I called him at least 3 times... I think he might still be playing it lol. I plan to get it soon though.
