How school works ?

I just wanted to know how school works in the USA.
For example how many hours do you have,grading system and so on.
Since I´m from Austria I can tell you what´s it like in this nice little country.
We have 5 grades. 1 is the best mark 5 the lowest.
School is from monday to friday.
Personally I have no idea what highschool is like in Austria cause I am studying in Italy.

In Italy there are 10 grades, 10 is the highest and 1 the lowest.
School is from monday to saturday.
Class begins at 8 am and finishes at 6 pm.

So now I am keen on how it works in the United States or also any other country.
Americans have the A,B,C,D,E,F grades if I am not mistaken.
I look forward hearing from you guys.

We don't have an E grade. It goes A, B, C, D, then F. They made it F because F stands for Fail... which I think is terrible, psychologically, on a child's self-esteem.

It generally works like this:
A=100-90%
B=89-80%
C=79-70%
D=69-60%
F=59-0%

Some schools implement the +/- system, where grades are as follows:
A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-, F

It generally goes like this:

A+ = 100-97%
A = 96-93%
A- = 92-90%

B+ = 89-87%
B = 86-83%
B- = 82-80%

C+ = 79-77%
C = 76-73%
C- = 72-70%

D+ = 69-67%
D = 66-63%
D- = 62-60%

F = F=59-0%
